Are We a Good Fit?
New Patient Checklist
It is crucial when choosing a pediatric practice for your children that you have given serious consideration to the fit between the practice philosophies and your own. Excellent care happens when the physicians and office staff are aligned with your family priorities and philosophies regarding medical care. Only then can shared decision-making be based on mutual respect.
Please read the following checklist carefully to be sure Kids Cove Pediatrics is the appropriate medical home for your children. We look forward to meeting you and forming a mutually rewarding relationship.
Vaccines
Our Vaccine Policy follows the schedule outlined by the American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP).
Antibiotics
We work hard to not overuse antibiotics. We educate families on appropriate use of antibiotics, but follow evidence-based guidelines and do not automatically treat illness with antibiotics.
We cannot prescribe antibiotics over the phone without a physical exam.
Medical Home
We work hard to provide comprehensive medical care and serve as your medical home. We want to be involved in either providing care in our office, where appropriate, or referring you to the most appropriate specialist and helping to coordinate your care.
Whenever you do see a specialist, we ask that you request a report be sent directly to our office so we may stay informed and have the most up-to-date information in your medical record.
Technology
Our practice values efficient, convenient communication, and we use technology to help us stay connected with our families. We rely on our patient portal as our primary way to share important information, including test results and referrals.
To ensure you receive timely updates, please be sure to keep a current email address on file. We also encourage families to visit our website for helpful information, and you can expect automated reminders for upcoming appointments to help keep everything on track.
Office Hours
We make every effort to meet the needs of our patients, offering both routine well visits and sick visit appointments.
We do offer walk-in appointments if necessary. However, Walk-In appointments are seen in the first available sick visit appointment slot and may have longer wait times.
To ensure we provided you with the most efficient care we recommend you call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Please familiarize yourself with our office hours to see if they work for your family.
After Hours
Dr. Graham is always on call. When our office is closed and you have an urgent issue that cannot wait the next business day, you can call our main number and the answering service will forward your message. A $35 fee applies to all after-hours calls handled by the answering service.
You may wish to check the "Is Your Child Sick?" section of our website for helpful information before using this service. Read more about After Hours care.
Insurance
We accept all insurances.
Please make sure we are in-network with your insurance plan. If your plan requires a Primary Care Provider (PCP) designation, this must be completed prior to the first appointment. Click here for a more information concerning our office policies for insurance and billing.
It is your responsibility to understand your insurance coverage, bring your insurance card to each visit, and pay any required copays at the time of service. If your insurance changes, please notify us promptly and upload a copy of your new card through the patient portal.
Our billing team is happy to help with general questions, but for specific coverage details, we recommend contacting your insurance company directly. While we strive to prevent surprises, we are required to bill according to the insurance contract and federal guidelines for the services provided.
Please read our Financial Policy and Credit Card on File Policy for additional details.
Billing and Fees
Insurance plans require us to collect copays at the time of your visit. Please understand we are unable to waive copayments.
If you are unable to pay an outstanding balance in full, please let our staff know—we’re happy to work with you to set up a payment plan to support your family.
Scheduling Appointments
For acute care, call our main number and one of our staff can assist you with scheduling a same day sick appointment.
For well visits or routine care, please call our main number and a staff member will assist you with scheduling a convenient time for evaluation. You will receive an a text message reminder 3 days ahead of the scheduled visit as a courtesy reminder.
Timeliness & Missed Appointments
Our practice makes every effort to run on time with appointments, as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable.
As a courtesy, we will remind you of your upcoming appointments via phone, text message or email. Please make sure you have a working telephone number and email on file.
We request you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late. We will always do our best to accommodate your schedule. Please understand we may have to ask you to reschedule if you arrive late for your appointment.
